TOCO 2012 Direct Services & Programs:
TOCO Festival Sponsorships: TOCO sponsored 28 children in financial need who are recovering from the loss of an immediate family member, or the suicide of a family member to a full day of creative and educational activities such as “Science Discovery” and “Hat and Cape Design for Superheroes.”
TOCO directly served 7 different families during the holidays by fulfilling their holiday wishes.
TOCO also sponsored Interfaith Food Pantry in Belleville, Illinois with food and supplies for the holiday season.
Camp Sponsorships: TOCO directly sponsored 2 children in need to attend an ACA accredited week long
summer camp program in order to improve the quality of their lives through fellowship and immersion in the outdoors.nature based
Sponsorships in the Arts: TOCO directly sponsored 5 children in need in the arts. TOCO hosted 3 karate students, and 2 dance students, providing their monthly lessons, teachers, and equipment in order that they might flourish and see an improvement in the quality of their lives.
Single Parents’ College Scholarships: TOCO provided 2 qualified single parents with college scholarships at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois.
TOCO Resale Shop provided deeply discounted prices on clothing and housewares to hundreds of children and families in need in our Belleville, Illinois neighborhood and beyond.
TOCO Textile Pantry, through a referral program with other social service agencies, provided clothing, shoes, and housewares to 56 individual children and 41 families in need free of charge.
All of the Tapestry of Community Offerings Direct Services are designed to enrich the lives of children and family members in our surrounding community. Whether through improving educational opportunities or by providing basic human needs such as clothing and housewares, each of the TOCO services improves the quality of life for children and family members in our neighborhoods.
TOCO has kept an estimated 360,000 pounds of materials out of landfills since 2010!
We are always looking for volunteers & other community organizations to support. We hope that through volunteering, we all may find happiness and strength.
